Superfluous

Bernie the cat loved to collect things. He had a special corner in his house where he kept all of his treasures. One day, he found a shiny, new ball and decided to add it to his collection. But soon Bernie realized that the ball was superfluous and he didn't really need it. The next day, Bernie went out for a walk and found a lost kitten. Bernie took the kitten under his wing and brought him home. The kitten was very grateful and Bernie was happy to have a new friend. Bernie realized that the ball was superfluous compared to the joy he felt having a new friend. As Bernie and the kitten played together, they knocked over a vase. Bernie knew that the vase was superfluous and he didn't need it, but he still felt bad for breaking it. He decided to clean it up and be more careful in the future. Bernie's collection of treasures was important to him, but he learned that some things were superfluous and didn't bring him true happiness. He realized that having friends and being careful were more important than things.
