Bernie the cat was having a quandary. He was sitting in front of two bowls of food, one filled with his favorite fish and the other with his favorite chicken. He couldn't decide which one to eat first. He sniffed the fish, then the chicken, and then the fish again. He was really hungry but he didn't want to make the wrong choice. Suddenly, he heard a meowing outside. It was his friend, Tom, who was lost and couldn't find his way back home. Bernie knew he had to help his friend but he was still in a quandary over the food. He meowed to Tom to wait for a moment and went back to the bowls. He looked at them again and this time he noticed something he hadn't seen before. The fish bowl had a small crack on the side and some of the food had spilled out. That made his decision easy. He went straight for the chicken bowl and started eating. After he finished, he went outside to help his friend. He showed him the way back home and even shared some of his chicken with him. Bernie was happy he made the right decision and helped his friend in need.
