Lugubrious

Once upon a time, there was a lugubrious cat named Bernie. Bernie was always sad and gloomy, and nobody knew why. Every day, he would sit by the window and stare outside with a lugubrious expression on his face. One day, a group of playful kittens came to visit Bernie. They tried to cheer him up by playing with him and bringing him toys, but nothing seemed to work. Bernie remained lugubrious and uninterested. As the days went by, the kittens noticed that Bernie's lugubriousness was starting to affect them too. They became sad and gloomy, just like Bernie. One day, the kittens decided to have a meeting to figure out how to help Bernie. They came up with a plan to throw a party for him and invite all of his friends over. When Bernie arrived at the party, he was surprised to see all of his friends there. They had brought him balloons, presents, and treats. Bernie couldn't help but smile, and his lugubrious expression slowly disappeared. From that day on, Bernie was a changed cat. He was happy and content, and his friends were happy too. They realized that sometimes all it takes is a little bit of love and attention to turn a lugubrious situation into a joyful one.
