Bernie was a sardonic cat. He never missed an opportunity to make a sarcastic remark. He would sit on the fence and watch as the birds flew past him. "Oh, look at those birds," he would say in a sardonic tone. "They're so lucky they can fly. I wish I could fly too." Of course, he had no intention of flying. He was quite content with his life as a lazy cat.
One day, a group of mice came to him for help. They were being terrorized by a big, mean cat who lived down the street. Bernie listened to their story with a sardonic smile on his face. "Oh, don't worry," he said. "I'm sure you can handle that big, scary cat all by yourselves." The mice were not amused by his sardonic remark.
Despite his sardonic nature, Bernie had a kind heart. He couldn't stand to see anyone in distress. So, he came up with a plan to help the mice. He convinced the local dogs to come to the mice's aid. They chased the big, mean cat away, and the mice were forever grateful to Bernie.
